Alejandra Regalado’s practice explores the intersection of body, memory, and place mainly through photography, video, and mixed media. Drawing from lived experience, she examines how the body functions as an archive, holding personal histories and carrying collective identities across time and space.

Her work has been widely exhibited throughout the U.S. and Mexico, including presentations at the National Museum of Mexican Art (Chicago), CUE Art Foundation (New York), Houston Center for Photography, Galería de la Raza (San Francisco), Colegio de México, Boise State University, Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Hidalgo, and Big Medium (Austin). Beyond institutional venues, she brings her work into community-centered spaces and consulates across the U.S., fostering dialogue across borders and audiences.

Regalado has received numerous awards and grants, including recognition from the 2024 Texas Biennial, the 2022 New York Latin American Art Triennial, the California Arts Foundation, and the New York Council for the Arts, as well as First Place in the Professional Photographer category at the Festival Internacional de la Imagen in Mexico.

Across mediums, Regalado invites viewers to reflect on their own relationships to the body, home, and displacement—creating space for complexity, vulnerability, and transformation.
